Finis

Timqat died earlier today from complications related to his diabetes.

He was a good cat and a loyal friend.

Vale.

Changes ...

Timqat's been very quiet recently - blogging has seemed so much less interesting than having his tummy rubbed, and on top of all that his owners moved interstate.

So with a new territory and new smells he decided ha wanted to have a new identity and become Rupert, and everything seemed to be going well, but he'd started feeling tireder than usual and his coat's been less glossy, so it was off to the vet.

Looks like it's diabetes - how it goes time will tell, but it's annoyingly two meals a day and no grazing, and regular insulin shots - poooh!

Vikings

My owner has been blogging again. About bloody Vikings and whether or not they had cats.

Well much as I hate to acknowledge the presence of other felines, of course they bloody did.

They grew grain. Grain brings rodents. Rodents bring cats. Cats like fires.

Of course they had cats, And being cats they pretended to be snuggly for just long enough to get a seat by the fire when it was cold and wet ...

ipads and cats

it seems someone has written some games to entertain cats.

Fine.

We like chasing things. We all know this. What's even more fun is when one of my humans is doing something on their tablet swipe at the screen. So far I've sent two tweets, an email, and totally buggered up an evernote notebook ...

Lenin's cat

Well, there I was, being a cat, lying on my cushion and luxuriating in the warmth of the stove when I realised there were some pictures on the TV of a bald man with goatee petting a cat.

Thought I'd better pay attention. Turned out that the humans were watching a program about Kronstadt and that baldy there was good old Vladimir Illich himself. Now, as a cat I don't really go for all this socialist egalitarian stuff, extreme libertarianism's more in tune with my instincts, but there you go, the leader of the Bolsehvik movement liked cats.

Just shows, behind every great movement there's a cat somewhere ...

how cats drink

secret's out! Doing what I do naturally turns out to be a cybernetic tour de force. Best coverage I've seen in in the New York Times ....

attitudinal cat

me, I'm scared of kangaroos. Big hoppity things that look like very big mice. Might want to take revenge on me for rodenticide.

On the other hand there's this cat in the good ol' US of A that clearly hasn't worked out the difference between a lizard and an alligator ...
