out all night ...

Timqat was a dirty little stop out last night - disappeared just as it was getting dark, and despite being called and having dried food jar rattled (usually brings him back if he's in earshot) didn't reappear until daylight, when he appeared on the back step looking sheepish.

As soon as he was let in it was straight into the cat nuts, crunch, crunch, crunch, and then on for his regular morning cuddle with Judi, followed by some very serious z's in the middle of the bedroom floor ...

cats and time

like I said, cats have no sense of time. What's confusing the purple wingdings out of me is daylight savings, suddenly it isn't light when I think it should be, dark when I think it should be, I'm getting fed at the wrong time, and my humans keep going off to work at odd times.

Very confusing - enough to put a cat off his tuna ....

Not a lot of posting

well what can you say - cats are well known for having no sense of time - but I've persuaded my owner to post this picture of me reading the Canberra Times. Not of course that I actually read the paper - not enough news about rodents in it ....

mouse ...

timqat caught a real furry mouse! Only worry is there might be mice in the roof. Opportunity or problem?

Scottish Wildcat Association

Timqat's Scottish cousins are in deep decline. To read about them and efforts to save them go to the Scottish Wildcat Association website.

Everytime we lose a species we lose part of the world.

Spider plants

I don't know, all these hanging down bits are just so enticing, and when I chew them I get this really nice fuzzy feeling inside ....

a fun weekend ...

I've had a great weekend. Got up onto the roof of the house, spent as much time as I wanted outside without seeing that pesky cat from two doors down, and I even got some chicken to eat.

Been a couple of downsides tho'. I got over one fence to explore my territory and counldn't get back. Totally lost cred as I had to call for help and have one of my humans help me back over the fence.

The other was that yesterday afternoon it turned really cold and this strange sleety wet stuff started coming out of the sky. Didn't like that at all.

Decided the best thing was to come inside and annoy my humans by getting on a dining room chair ...

I've been bad ...

Lately I've been let out to do my cat things in the back yard, which is pretty cool, but this morning when I was sat on the kitchen window sill asking to get back in I saw one of my humans putting stuff in the trash can.

Beauty! My potential territory's bigger than it seemed! So off I went to explore and beat up the pompous siamese cat from two doors down.

Only came back when I saw a delivery truck pull up. I thought it might have more Science Diet or cat toys in it, but it didn't - just a lot of big packages.

Anyway one of my humans grabbed me, told me I'd been bad and locked me inside. Meeow!!!

Scratching posts

My humans went to Sydney last weekend, ostensibly to go and buy some furniture at Ikea and left me in the cat motel.

It wasn't that nice, even if the motel people did let me out for a run and came and talked to me, because there was a nasty spitty hairy cat in the next cage.

However my humans did come and collect me and seem glad to have me back. They also bought me a couple of cat toys and this rather fine hidey hole cum scratching post which means I can hide in the lounge room out of sight and leap out at them when they go upstairs to the kitchen ...
